Hi! I’m Michelle *said in my very southern south Georgia voice*.
I’m a married mom of one son with a passion for being real and sharing the good, the bad and the ugly of my day. I’m a reformed workaholic, and I’m still trying to work on making sure that my plate is evenly balanced between family, work, church and fun.
I love eating really good food. So much, that I now have a weight issue. Some say it came from my genes, but it’s really the fault of a faulty thyroid, a love of a fork, a mean sweet tooth, and a chocolate addiction coupled with the lack of liking to sweat. Not a good combo, so we will just break that back down and say it’s bad genes.
I grew up in south Georgia in a little town where everybody knows your business. And if it’s bad business, better bet it spread faster than softened butter on a hot biscuit. But, it isn’t all bad, I miss it, my friends, and the small town feel (on occasion).
We moved to the beach a few years ago, well, not actually the beach, but we do have a water view. It’s peaceful here, and folks mainly stay to themselves – which is a good and bad thing. Making friends is hard, especially when you live in a military based community, but it’s perfect for us and we make do with who and what is brought into our lives.
I had a dream of starting this blog since 2013. I bought a domain, let it lapse, bought it again, started a blog, let it lapse. Rinse and repeat. Silly me. I should have just stayed with it, but some times, the right time is when we least expect it, so here I am again.
A lot of folks have been hoping for me to share my experiences via book, but I think this will do just fine for the time being. I never fathomed myself an author, but I can tell you, I am brutally honest, even when it hurts. I say if you wanted it candy coated, best visit Candy Land, because I’m not there and I’m not dishing out sugar coated kisses here.
So, hang on, because I’m about to get deep down (sometimes dirty) oversharing in this space I’m calling home.
